It had taken us to Nonza, my girl crush and me. The village lay on the Cap Corse, where maybe twenty houses crowded together upon a rock that rose over the sea. Nonza, that ́s how it was written, had 73 inhabitants.
We marched a thousand stone steps downwards and found quarter in the still empty ruin of a stone house; the few other remaining house pieces had already been claimed by other backpackers.
Our house didn ́t even have a roof. Perfect if you wanted to make a campfire. We fell into conversation with the neighbours; one of them was called Luc, he was quite nice I must admit.
The next day a strong wind came; the waves reared up before me, twice, three times the size of me. Luise ran off and dived into a giant wave to get out into the sea. I hesitated. I didn ́t dare.
